Reliant Granular
Controlled-Release Phosphite 28g
Beech leaf disease is a new disease affecting native and ornamental beech tree species in North America. It’s currently under study by environmental departments in Rhode Island, Ohio, New York and Michigan, with additional reports of infestations in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts and Ontario, Canada.
How To Spot It
- Striping bands of thickened tissue between leaf veins
- Distorted, puckered or curled leaves
- Leaf loss as the disease progresses
If you believe you’ve spotted beech leaf disease in your service area, report it to your state’s environmental department.
How to Treat It
While information is still being collected about its cause and how it spreads, several state departments are actively testing products to treat it.
Research has shown that phosphite products are producing encouraging results in American beech saplings under 4” in diameter.
Quest Products’ the company that pioneered treating trees with phosphite technology has introduced Reliant Granular Phosphite 28g. That offers controlled, continuous release of phosphite to trees. It can be applied in any season, and offers three months of treatment by rainfall. It will not leach out, does not cause phytotoxicity and stimulates the trees’ immune system to manage a pathogenic attack.
